Rabbit Runs
A rabbit run is an enclosure used to temporarily hold
rabbits when they are placed outside in the garden. It is important for
rabbits to go out in the open air from time to time. They get an
opportunity to play around and straighten their legs. Playing helps the
rabbit to work out so that they keep healthy and their lifespan is
lengthened. The rabbit is a naturally playful creature. These short
excursions help the animal evacuate stress and exercise. However, the
rabbit is still a vulnerable animal. Predators such as cats and dogs can
harm the bunny or even cause stress. The run is thus valuable protective
equipment for the rabbit when they are outside.

Standard rabbit runs are made of wood or wire or
both. If made of wood, care must be taken that the wood is sufficiently
thick so that the rabbit is unable to chew through it. The run should
carefully be inspected for any thinning of the wood. If wire is used,
then the wire mesh should be very small so that the rabbits are unable
to squeeze through it. Rabbits have the ability to go through very small
holes, less than their own girth.
